Pet Behaviour Therapy Initial Consultation

Behaviour Therapy Consultations are not just for dogs, I also work with cats and cover issues such as aggression to humans, problems between dogs and children, toileting issues, livestock issues, dog reactivity, resource guarding and stress issues such as self trauma, OCD type behaviours, resource guarding, separation anxiety and noise phobias.

My Behaviour Modification Plan (BMP) will consist of current scientific theory, and I only use proven positive reward based methods.I ask new clients to complete a detailed questionnaire before I meet the animal so I have as much information as possible beforehand.

I DO NOT use harsh training aids such as spray cans, shock/spray collars, slip leads or vibrating collars.

A MHERA assessment will be carried out assessing the animal's general mood, emotion and what exactly is reinforcing the problem behaviours.

Breed, age, lifestyle, activity level and temperament are also considered in the assessment to help build a bespoke behaviour modification plan tailored to your pet.

Behaviour modification plans may produce desired results quickly, although it is generally the case that time, commitment and consistency is required.

This is because behaviour often develops over a significant time period and equally it may take time to change this.

Implementing the behaviour modification plan remains the owner’s responsibility at all times. This is alongside responsibility for the pet’s welfare and behaviour.

This fee includes a behaviour plan sent to you including a written assessment of your pet's behaviour, videos, written info and back up support information as necessary for the individual animal

Initial consultation £120

For home visits a mileage fee may apply, depending on location.
