I’m a qualified pet behaviourist and veterinary nurse working with dogs and cats but I’m happy to support you with your smaller pets too.

I'm based in the Falmouth, Helston, Truro and Camborne areas and work throughout Cornwall, as well as working with clients online throughout the UK.

I run puppy socialisation classes and a variety of training classes outdoors in public spaces such as parks, beaches, fields and town locations.

I only use kind, positive, science-based training methods to help bring out the best in your pet.

I work with all breeds of cats and dogs (including banned/exempted breeds) and all types of behaviour problems including dog to dog reactivity, human directed aggression, noise phobias, anxiety, shutdown rescue dogs, elderly pets with cognitive disorders, resource guarders, OCD and PTSD behaviours, pets with separation anxiety as well as conflicts between pets in the home.

I’m mum to three amazing children and have three wonderful dogs (two rescues) and a menagerie of rehomed pets including chickens, fish, birds and tortoise. My dogs Katie, Jessie and Buddy regularly help out with nervous or anxious dogs.

I worked as a veterinary nurse in veterinary practices for 22 years (19 of these at Rosemullion), later specialising in helping pets with behaviour issues.

My studies have included science at University College Galway, veterinary nursing at University College Dublin and I’ve completed various courses through Bicton and Duchy College. My proudest academic achievement has been studying animal behaviour through COAPE.

I’m proud to currently work with two charities as a behaviour consultant for St Francis Dogs Home and a trainer for Dogs For Autism.

I’m fully insured, DBS checked, and a member of the following professional bodies:

DOG WALKING SOCIAL GROUPS IN FALMOUTH, HELSTON, TRURO & REDRUTH

Join here: Ruth and Friends Dog Social Group | Facebook

We are a group of dog owners & meet up at 9am in different locations each Saturday.
All breeds & ages welcome and there is no fee to join us! This is a great way to socialise your dog as they are all on leads at all times.

Many dogs have overcome their fears of other dogs while out walking and its lovely to see the dogs greet each other at the start of the walk. Please don’t allow your dog to greet another before checking with the owner first. It is the owners responsibility to keep their dog under control and on a lead during these walks.
